Developing Champions Since 1961
The Sarasota Sharks
A legacy built on discipline, coaching, and community—then, now, and into the future.
Once a Shark. Always a Shark.
For sixty-five years, the Sarasota Sharks have quietly done something extraordinary.
Founded in 1961, the Sharks have developed generations of swimmers through a culture defined by discipline, resilience, and excellence. Long before youth sports became commercialized, this program established a standard that has endured across decades—through changing facilities, evolving competition, and countless athletes who wore the Sharks name with pride.
This anniversary is more than a celebration. It is a moment to honor where we’ve been, recognize those who built it, showcase all we are doing today, and ensure the Sarasota Sharks legacy continues.
Welcome Home, Sharks Alumni!
More Than a Team. A Lifelong Network.
The Sarasota Sharks community doesn’t end when the final race is swum or the last practice whistle blows. It carries forward—through friendships, shared memories, and a common bond built in the water.
Whether you swam for one summer or one decade, whether you raced for fun or chased championships, whether you were a Sharks parent or volunteer, you are part of the Sharks family. The lanes may have changed. The decades may have passed. But the connection remains.
This page is about that connection—who we are now, together.
Please click here or use the Join the Alumni button at the top of this page to become part of our community—inside, you’ll find shared memories, photos and stories from across six decades, ways to reconnect with teammates and coaches, updates on the program’s future, and opportunities to help preserve and celebrate the legacy of the Sarasota Sharks for generations to come.
